A new version of the classic Battleships game will be launched showcasing the dazzle camouflage of WWI.
Dazzleship Battleships, published by Laurence King in February 2017, is a unique version of the classic Battleships game, based on the dazzle camouflage of British and US Naval vessels during the First World War.
Inspired by the bold geometric styles of the artistic movements Cubism and Vorticism, dazzle ships used bright geometric patterns to create optical illusions, making it difficult for enemy attackers to judge a ship’s outline and where it would be when their torpedo arrived.
Dazzleship Battleships includes two 64-page map-and-grid books for playing the game, and a 16-page booklet explaining the history of this fascinating camouflage. Contained within a sturdy box, this nostalgic game can be played at home or taken away on trips.
The boxed game with three booklets costs £12.99. ISBN 9781780679341
