The Medal Department at Morton and Eden has continued to offer Orders, Decorations and Medals of all types, and of the very highest quality, since 2002, following the closure of Sotheby’s own Medal Department.

Since 2003 we have held two or more dedicated sales per year, and have had the privilege of handling a number of truly exceptional collections, including:

-The Rockwood Collection
-Royal Orders and Medals from the Collection of George, Duke of Cambridge (in association with Sotheby’s)

We currently hold the world record price for the sale of any British Medal or Group at public auction, following the sale of the Victoria Cross Group of 11 to Vice-Admiral Gordon Campbell, R.N., the celebrated ‘Q-Ships’ Captain, on 23 November 2017. Achieving a total of £840,000 – this price exceeded the previous London auction record set by the unique Tibet V.C. Group to Colonel John Grant, 8th Gurkha Rifles, on 2 July 2014 (£408,000), which was also sold in our salerooms.
