The Orders and Medals Research Society is a UK-based organization with a global membership dedicated to collecting and researching orders, decorations and medals and preserving the memory of those to whom they were awarded.

The Orders and Medals Research Society is a UK-based organization with a global membership dedicated to collecting and researching orders, decorations and medals and preserving the memory of those to whom they were awarded. Members’ interests range from awards for gallantry in battle or bravery in saving life to campaign and long service medals and recognition of meritorious public service.

 

The Society has 19 branches – ten in the UK and seven overseas as well as specialist branches for those who collect ribbons or miniature medals. It encourages members to attend its Annual Convention, which in 2019 will be held in Nottingham from 13 to 15 September. After a Welcome Reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham on the evening of Friday 13 September, there will be talks, members’ exhibitions and, for those who wish to attend it, a Convention Dinner on Saturday 14 September. These will take place at the Nottingham Convention Centre, as will the OMRS Medal Fair on Sunday 15 September.

 

 The Society publishes a quarterly Journal and also books containing substantial and previously unpublished research by members.
