Woolley & Wallis

Woolley & Wallis is described by the Antiques Trade Gazette as "arguably the most exciting provincial saleroom in the country" and has lived up to that title in recent years with a string of record-breaking sales and notable prices.

Of the fourteen lots to make over a million pounds at regional auction houses, Woolley and Wallis has sold eleven of them, including our top lot - a Chinese spinach-green jade water buffalo - for a hammer price of £3.4m in 2009. From 2010 to the present Woolley and Wallis has been the highest grossing regional saleroom in the U.K.

The twice-yearly Arms & Armour, Medals & Coins sales bring together the related disciplines of arms & armour, orders, decorations and medals; together with medallions and coins.

The auctions will include orders, gallantry and campaign awards, coins and medallions, edged weapons, firearms, armour and militaria. Some notable prices including, in 2018, a fine Indian Dagger sold for £27,500, a half dime sold for £15,000 and, in 2019, a group of orders, decorations and medals sold for £30,000.

Please contact the department to discuss consigning any such items, whether collections or single lots.
