MiGs head out for September

Two Cold War aircraft have left the Newark Air Museum site on a short-term temporary basis, at the request of the owner.

The aircraft in question are two former Soviet MiG aircraft that have been on long-term loan at Newark since May 2002; these are:

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23ML Flogger – 024003607 ‘07’
Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-27K Flogger – 61912507006 ‘71’

Work to dismantle the aircraft started in late August and it is anticipated that the aircraft will be away from the museum site until the end of September. Whilst they are off site it is believed that the aircraft will be used for film work. Feel free to speculate on exactly what that might be.
