New venue for Holts
Holts, auctioneers of fine modern and antique guns, has announced a new venue in central London plus new preview and sale dates.
The new Holts venue for auctions is located at The Army Reserve Centre, Adam and Eve Mews, Kensington, London W8 6TN. Holts is also changing the timetabling of auctions and the preview days will now include the weekends prior to the auction. For March, the viewing days will be open on Saturday 16, Sunday 17 and Monday 18 with the auction itself being held on Tuesday 19. This is in order to a greater number of potential bidders to the rooms and improve accessibility to those who are not in a position to take time out from work to attend. The new venue is just minutes from High Street Kensington Underground station.
Early entries into the 19 March auction include Lot 1206, a fine 8x57 JRS Jaeger Patent push-forward underlever, sidelock ejector double rifle by H Scheiring. Estimate £20,000-£25,000. Lot 1300, a pair of lightweight 12-bore, self-opening, sidelock ejectors by J Purdey & Sons. Estimate £15,000- £20,000.
Lot 1605, a fine and exceptionally rare 12-bore (3in), ‘Zenith’ bolting-sidelever, double-trigger, over and under triggerplate-action ejector by Chruchill (Gunmakers) Ltd. Estimate £30,000-£50,000. More details at www.holtsauctioneers.com/auctions.html
