By Philip Jowett
This is one of Pen and Sword’s regular Images of War series, covering the Far East campaign of 1941-1942, as the Japanese Imperial Army rampaged across the Pacific. The campaigns covered include the fall of Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore, the Philipines, Dutch East Indies, Burma and the war at sea. Although packed with plenty of photos – over 200 of them – there is still plenty of text, making this a decent introduction to quite a number of battles. The photo reproduction could do with being better, especially for a title selling itself on that basis, but it’s a good value, wide-ranging look at war in the Far East.
