One of the most famous books of ancient times, this is a modern spin on it, complete with trendy graphics, pertinent examples and modern interpretations. Actually, saying that isn’t fair, as this nicely packaged book is both approachable and detailed. It even starts by musing on whether Sun Tzu was actually one person or even what era he lived in.

However, it’s the aphorisms that we’re here for and there are plenty of those, with each one coming with a modern application. Stylish, packed with information and history, this is a cracking read for all military history enthusiasts.
