It’s amazing how much information the author has managed to cram into this pocket-sized guide to the German soldier of WWI. It covers everything from how to use a flame thrower and machine gun, to a trench raid report, construction of shelters and tactics in combat.

There are photos and illustrations throughout, some of which are borderline in readability thanks to the cheap and cheerful paper, but it’s still a neat, inexpensive look at various roles filled by German soldiers.
