More nautical tales now, with this latest book looking at the fast attack craft of various types that the Royal Navy put to sea during WWI and WWII. This is a large format book with over 400 pages and high-quality paper which means that there’s room for plenty of schematics and some excellently reproduced photos. It’s a comprehensive guide, starting with the companies that made the boats and dealing with how the Admiralty prioritised buying in various types. There is a huge amount of technical detail, it really is impressive, and if that’s at the expense of getting much in the way of personal anecdotes it can be forgiven for the sake of the authority it gives the book.
