BY MICHAEL NAPIER
The author of books on Korea, the RAF and Cold War air power returns with another set of Cold War era stories. This time it’s eight conflicts, starting with the Suez Crisis of 1956, the Congo Crisis of ’60-’65, then the India-Pakistan Wars of 1965 and 1971, the Arab-Israeli Wars of 1967 and 1973, the Falklands Conflict and the Iran-Iraq War. Each is introduced in terms of the reasons for the fighting, then there are maps and an overview of the ground campaign. The real meat of the book though is the role of the air campaign that supported and sometimes determined the final outcome. Superb production standards through make this one to enjoy.
