Forgotten Archives 3 by Darren Neely Forgotten Archives 3 by Darren Neely
Darren Neely's third book in the series looking at the US Army Signal Corps.

This is the third book in a series from the personal archives of men from the US Army Signal Corps, and as a result, most have never been published before. It starts with the Corps in Italy and then wanders through France and Germany, chapters largely being assigned to the person who took the photos. Scattered throughout are eight pages of colour illustrations and QR-codes on 31 pages – point your smartphone camera at them and see the actual location on Google Maps or Street View.

While there’s not a lot of focus here the devil is in the detail. The captions are almost forensic in their examination and explanation of what’s going, revealing details a casual view will have missed. It’s not just US Army hardware either, there are plenty of German tanks and vehicles covered as well. With superb production standards, it’s a great look at the war in Europe through the lens of the US Army Signal Corps.
