In his latest book Tim tackles the subject of sex in the Third Reich, where absolute power corrupted those making race laws and promoting traditional views of sex and marriage. There’s everything from everyday recollections, to the crimes of the clergeyand the sexual activities of leading lights in the NSDAP. Most of the NSDAP hierarchy don’t come out of this with any credit, especially Himmler and Boorman. There’s the abuse meted out in concentration camps and the activities of young people in the Hitler Youth and the BDM. What’s shocking, and typically hypocritical, is the use of young Jewish women as prostitutes. Not an easy read, but an important one.
