FRONTIER FOUNDRY
Partnering with IWM means that not only does this WWI RTS game use realistic forces, artillery, and weaponry, but there’s a splendid veneer of WWI history sugar coated over the top, complete with videos and historical events. There are four modes: Campaign, Historic Battles, Skirmish and Multiplayer, though it’s complex so play the tutorial campaign first. The strategic map really does convey the essence of Great War battle planning where one offensive can relive pressure somewhere else. You can then either sim the battle or take control on the ground with fortifications and troop orders. Overall, an attractive an immersive experience.
